$1M verdict in stillbirth case

For years, American courts have resisted awards for non-economic personal injuries such as emotional suffering, noting that fixing a value for such injuries is subjective. And a number of states have set limits on such damages. But several states have also made exceptions for a variety of cases, such as emotional injuries suffered by women who have stillbirths as a result of medical malpractice.
